Welsh 50 Metre Open

The Welsh 50M Open is a 50Metre match held around June at Tondu Target Shooting Club.

The Combined Meeting includes an Open class available to all, with scores recognised for GB selection purposes by British Shooting. Top scoring Welsh athletes qualify for the Confined Final to crown the Welsh 50Metre Champion.

The 2025 50Metre Championships will be held on 21st-22nd June.

Prone Competitions:

  • The Prone Open consists of a 60-shot Elimination detail followed by a 60-shot Final on Saturday 21st, shot to ISSF rules and regulations. Timings are detailed in the information PDF.
  • The Confined Prone Final will take place on the morning of Sunday 22nd for the top-15 Welsh competitors (Confirmed WSRA members) from Saturday’s Eliminations.
  • All published scores for the Prone event will be in decimal format and it is each competitor’s responsibility to establish if they have progressed to the next stage.
  • The Pairs event is concurrent with the Prone Eliminations on Saturday morning. The B/C class is for B/C class shooters only.
  • The Veteran competition is concurrent with the Prone Eliminations on Saturday morning.

The 3-Position Competition:

  • Will take place on Sunday 22nd.
  • Course of fire consists of 20 shots kneeling, prone and standing. Timings detailed in the information PDF.
  • All competitors wishing to register scores for National and GB qualification will be expected to conform to current ISSF equipment rules. Competitors to be aware that random testing will take place. An ISSF member will be present.
